Flannel Board and Stand-Up Animals Grades K-4, 21 Pages

$2.95

Description

Teachers: tell the story of The Dragon of Nani Cave to your preschoolers and kindergarteners with a flannel board and flannel backed animals and scenery. Hand out the story pieces to your students and watch them anticipate coming up to place their story piece on the board at the appropriate time in the story. (students color the story pieces before teacher glues the pieces onto flannel backing.) Some pieces can be used with Don’t Call Me Turtle.

Older students (grades 1-4) can color and cut out the animals and scenery, attaching clothespins to enable the story pieces to stand, then work individually or in groups to create dioramas illustrating the story of The Dragon of Nani Cave. (Some pieces can be used with Don’t Call Me Turtle.)

Optional: older students choose one of these endangered animals and work individually or in small groups to research the animal and create a presentation for the class about the animal and what can be done to help preserve it.

Seventeen animal pages and four scenery pages.
